Africa Cup Boosts Nigeria Coach Eric Schell's Stock, Three Nations Interested
Nigeria national team coach, Eric Schell, has become the subject of increasing interest from several African football federations after leading the “Super Eagles” to a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Following earlier discussions of the Malian coach's name within Tunisian football circles, media reports have revealed that the Gabonese Football Federation has included Schell on its shortlist of candidates to succeed coach Thierry Mouyouma, who recently departed his position.
In the same vein, the Angolan Football Federation has expressed interest in signing Eric Schell, as it seeks to rebuild its national team following their group stage exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Eric Schell is currently under contract with the Nigerian Football Federation until 2027. He is expected to hold a meeting with federation officials in the coming days to discuss his future, given the growing interest in his services from several African national teams.
