Gaaya Merbah, JS Kabylie Goalkeeper: "AS FAR Didn't Come Here to Give Us Gifts"

Gaya Merbah, the goalkeeper for Algerian club JS Kabylie, emphasized that the upcoming match against AS FAR will be challenging, as the Moroccan representative is a strong team with significant experience in the CAF Champions League.

Speaking on Friday at the pre-match press conference, Merbah stated: "I have previously played in the Moroccan league, so I know AS FAR well. They are a good team with stability. This is a Maghrebi derby. In recent years, AS FAR has achieved excellent results, both in the Champions League and in the Moroccan league."

He added: "They have experienced players, unlike us, as we have young players who are competing in the Champions League for the first time. It will be a bit difficult, but it's not a problem for us."

Merbah concluded: "AS FAR didn't come here to offer us gifts, and we will be ready and give our all. There were some financial issues, but thankfully, they have been resolved."

It is worth noting that JS Kabylie will host AS FAR tomorrow, Saturday, at 17:00 GMT+1, for Matchday 3 of the CAF Champions League group stage.
