JS Kabylie Coach Zinnbauer: 'If You Ask Me If I Want Benzema and Ronaldo, I'd Say Yes!'
Josef Zinnbauer, head coach of Algerian club JS Kabylie, has admitted the existence of "internal problems" within the team ahead of their CAF Champions League clash against AS FAR.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Friday, the German coach stated: "I won't lie, yes, we have problems. Some people at the club have succeeded in solving them. We have to keep working, whether with problems or not. If you have the opportunity to play in the Champions League, you must give everything you have."
He added: "We are currently preparing our team with the available players, and tomorrow we will see what happens; this is the current situation."
Zinnbauer emphasized the necessity of replacing departing players with others of the same caliber. "If a certain player leaves, the club must find another player with the same qualifications. If money is available, and the transfer market gives us options to sign certain players, and the club has the ability to pay for a certain player, then we must sign him."
He then added jokingly: "We are in negotiations with some players, but sometimes the salary is high. As a coach, if you ask me if I want Benzema and Ronaldo, I will say yes, bring them. I cannot sign a player of a lower level than the player who left. In that case, I think about bringing in young players who want to work and prove themselves, and who have a desire to play for JS Kabylie with their heart. Currently, we do not have enough players."
JS Kabylie is set to host AS FAR tomorrow, Saturday, at 17:00 GMT+1, in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
