El Hadji Diouf: AFCON Final Must Not Harm Senegal-Morocco Relations

Senegalese legend El Hadji Diouf emphasized, ahead of his national team's clash with Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations final, that the match is a major football event that should not impact the fraternal relations between the two nations, regardless of the outcome.

Diouf stated in a press declaration: "It's a final match, with positive and negative aspects. It should not spoil the relationship between Senegal and Morocco because it's just one game," stressing that football remains a means of rapprochement, not conflict.

He added: "Whoever cannot attend the stadium should stay home and await Senegal's coronation. We have players accustomed to these types of matches, possessing terrifying composure and formidable talent, and everything will go well, God willing."

Diouf continued: "All I want to tell people is not to get angry. One hundred million people cannot attend the stadium, and as I said, for those who cannot attend, stay in your homes and await Senegal's victory," urging fans to remain calm and not be drawn into provocation.

He concluded: "It's just a football match, and after this game, we will remain brothers with the Moroccans. Senegal loves these types of matches, and I've said it before and will repeat it: our players are accustomed to playing at very high levels, and I believe all the talk is just details."

It is worth noting that the match between the Moroccan and Senegalese national teams will take place today, Sunday, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, kicking off at 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
