Niakate (Senegal Player): "Morocco and Us Are Brothers, But Only One Winner Will Emerge"
Senegalese national team player Moussa Niakate acknowledged the strength of the Moroccan national team ahead of their clash tomorrow, Sunday, in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking at a press conference, Niakate stated: "We are very happy with the continuity of confidence, and I believe that was strongly evident in the last edition. This is the result of long-term work that began almost fifteen years ago. Today, as the current generation, we are reaping the fruits of this labor. Therefore, we are in a good position to continue building and developing."
He added: "For Senegal, reaching the semi-finals is the minimum, and the final has also become a habit for us. We will see, but on this basis, we have gained some points. These are things we must adjust tomorrow."
He continued: "Regarding handling pressure and celebrations, I don't like exaggeration because we always maintain respect. We were raised with that since we went to Senegal, and that's what we want to apply today in this final. We will act with respect and play the match with full seriousness."
He further stated: "As the coach said, they might be brothers, but we don't want everything to be just appearances, because in the end, there will be only one winner, and that winner could be us or them."
He concluded: "Certainly, we will do everything in our power to be the winners, because our people deserve it, and they deserve this achievement. We have worked well over the past months, and we are more determined than ever. But above all, football is decided on the field, and we are ready for that."
The Senegalese national team will face the Moroccan national team tomorrow in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, starting at 8:00 PM (GMT+1), at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.
