
Senegalese Foreign Ministry: "Africa Cup Final an Occasion to Celebrate Brotherhood Between Senegal and Morocco"
The Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad affirmed that the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final between Senegal and Morocco, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, represents an opportunity to celebrate the brotherhood and rapprochement between the two peoples, who are linked by strong historical, economic, humanitarian, and spiritual ties.
The Foreign Ministry's statement came in response to a communiqué from the Senegalese Football Federation regarding organizational issues faced by the "Teranga Lions" national team delegation before their match against Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations final.
The Ministry emphasized the depth of friendly and solidarity relations between Senegal and Morocco, which are based on mutual respect and a shared vision for African and international issues, noting that these ties have been strengthened over the decades.
The Ministry also praised the continuous and outstanding cooperation from the Moroccan government since the start of the tournament, affirming gratitude for this unwavering fraternal spirit.
The Ministry clarified that sports, particularly football, represent an effective means of promoting rapprochement and cohesion between peoples, calling on all parties, fans, and the public to demonstrate responsibility, respect, and sportsmanship to preserve the image of African football and the strength of Senegalese-Moroccan relations.
