Adil Rami: "No Football Expert Would Dare Say Senegal Are Superior to Morocco, But in Football, There's No Logic"
Former French international of Moroccan descent, Adil Rami, shared his opinion on the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal, asserting that the scales tip in favour of the "Atlas Lions" based on technical and tactical data, despite acknowledging the difficulty of predicting the match's outcome.
Rami stated: "Based on what I see tactically, in terms of intensity, aggression, pressing, defensive recovery, mentality, and the technical aspect; I see Morocco as superior for all the reasons I mentioned. However, as Clarence Seedorf said: in football, there is no logic, and that's what makes it good."
Emphasizing Morocco's advantage, he added: "If we talk about what I've seen, Morocco is above Senegal. Especially since the match is being played in Morocco, with the support of the fans and all this enthusiasm, I say it clearly: Morocco is currently above Senegal. Anyone who understands football and tells me that Senegal is above Morocco, that's their opinion, but it's not mine; no one who understands football would dare to say that Senegal is superior to Morocco after what we've seen in terms of collective and individual performance."
Regarding his objectivity and connection to Morocco, Rami said: "Some might say: 'He's Moroccan, what else would he say?' And some might say I'm not Moroccan because I played for France; I am both. But I don't force myself to say good things about Morocco merely out of courtesy. I state things as they are; I speak objectively."
The final match between the Moroccan national team and their Senegalese counterparts is scheduled for this coming Sunday (20:00 GMT+1) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
