CAF: Morocco's AFCON 2025 Edition Achieves Record Revenues, Up Over 90%
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to achieve a record increase in revenues, exceeding 90% compared to previous editions.
This significant growth is attributed to an increase in the number of commercial sponsors for the tournament, rising from 17 in the previous edition to 23 for the 2025 tournament. This includes global brands, as well as new companies from the United States, Europe, and Turkey.
CAF clarified that the commercial success of the tournament is not coincidental but rather the result of a clear strategy based on analyzing fan data and expanding broadcasting rights into new markets, including China, Japan, Brazil, and Europe.
CAF also highlighted the Africa Cup of Nations' entry into the world of e-sports, in collaboration with Konami. This move aims to connect the competition with the youth demographic and digital sports enthusiasts.
This achievement represents the highest level of financial revenue in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, reflecting growing global confidence in the continental tournament and its commercial and marketing success.
