Burkina Faso Football Federation Sacks Coach Brama Traoré After AFCON Exit
The Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF) has officially announced the termination of its collaboration with national team coach Brama Traoré and all members of his technical staff, following the Stallions' participation in the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".
In an official statement, the FBF clarified that this decision was made after a comprehensive evaluation of the team's performance in the continental tournament. The results achieved were deemed below the pre-set objectives, leading to significant disappointment among fans, national football stakeholders, and responsible bodies.
The statement noted that the target set before the tournament began was to reach at least the semi-finals, in line with the positive momentum the team had experienced in previous editions. However, the performance and results did not live up to this ambition.
Despite the decision to part ways, the FBF extended its thanks to Brama Traoré and his staff for their efforts and services to the national team since taking charge in 2024, wishing them success in their future professional endeavors.
The federation concluded its statement by affirming that it would promptly initiate the necessary procedures to select a new technical staff, aiming to rebuild the national team and prepare for upcoming competitions.
It is worth noting that the Burkina Faso national team was eliminated from the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025" after a 3-0 loss to Côte d'Ivoire.
