Burkina Faso Coach: "Determined to Make a Difference at AFCON, Aim for Golden Star"

Burkina Faso national team coach, Brama Traoré, expressed his ambition to compete for the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025" title.

Traoré's statements came after Burkina Faso qualified for the AFCON round of 16, following their victory over Sudan and securing second place in Group E behind Algeria.

The Burkina Faso coach told the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF): "We are striving for excellence in the knockout stages, and we must continue to work hard and push forward to place a golden star on the Burkina Faso national team jersey."

He added: "We are determined to make a difference and achieve positive results in this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations."

Regarding his technical choices during the group stage, he said: "What matters to us are the results. Before facing Sudan, we were more focused on preparing for the round of 16, so we made some changes and decided to rest a number of players in preparation for the next stage."

Burkina Faso will face Côte d'Ivoire in the AFCON round of 16 next Tuesday (20:00 GMT+1).
