Regragui: 'Cameroon Player Made a Big Mistake About Moroccan Fans; Hope They Show How Hard It Is to Win Here'
Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui reiterated the crucial importance of fan support in major matches during the pre-match press conference ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
Regarding the expected atmosphere in the stadium, Regragui also seized the opportunity to respond to Christian Kouamé, who had commented on Moroccan fans before the quarter-final match. Regragui stated: "The Cameroon player made a big mistake when he spoke about the Dortmund fans. When you play in Morocco, there are only Moroccan fans, only Moroccan fans. This stadium is difficult for every opponent, and we feel that when we are on the pitch."
Regragui then delivered a direct message to the Moroccan supporters, saying: "I hope tomorrow the Moroccan fans will give their best and show the opponent that it is difficult to win in Morocco."
It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team is set to face Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday, at 21:00 GMT+1, in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final. The match will take place at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
