Amorim Rejects Manchester United Resignation, Responds to Criticism
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration after his team's 1-1 draw against Leeds and addressed the criticism directed at his management of the team.
Amorim, whose contract with the club runs until June 2027, affirmed that he would not resign from his position. He stated in a press conference: “I know my name is not Antonio Conte or Thomas Tuchel or Jose Mourinho, but I am the manager of Manchester United, not just a coach. This will last for eighteen months and then everyone will move on to something else. That was the deal. I will not resign. I will do my job until someone else comes to replace me.”
The Portuguese coach also dismissed the criticism directed at him, including remarks from Gary Neville, adding: “If people don't know how to deal with criticism like Gary Neville's, then everything needs to change. Every department must do its job. I am doing my job.”
Manchester United currently sit fifth in the Premier League table.
