Barcelona Misses Out on Mika Mármol Transfer Fee
Spanish club Barcelona is looking to raise funds to strengthen its defense and had hoped to benefit from a 50% sell-on clause for player Mika Mármol, who joined Las Palmas from Barcelona in the summer of 2023.
The Catalan club anticipated that Las Palmas would sell Mármol during the current winter transfer window to avoid his departure as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.
However, Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez stated: “Renewing Mika's contract is difficult. We will continue to fight for him to stay, but it's tough. There are important teams interested in his services, and we cannot compete there. But we will not sell him, and I will not negotiate.”
This decision means that Barcelona is unlikely to receive any financial return from the player's transfer, as Mármol's departure as a free agent appears to be the most probable outcome.
