Flick Demands Barcelona Defensive Reinforcements in Winter Window
German coach Hansi Flick, manager of Spanish club Barcelona, has publicly called for the signing of a new defender for the team during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Flick's request comes amidst limited defensive options available to the club, with the squad currently restricted to just six defenders until at least late April, following an injury to player Andreas Christensen.
Flick emphasized the necessity of strengthening the team's backline, stating: "A difficult question. I don't think we are ready at the moment. If you look at the backline, the defense, I think it's clear that we need another player. We have to discuss it, and in the winter transfer market, it's not easy to get a player of this level. But I am confident that we can do something, but this transfer must make sense."
Speculation suggests that Barcelona may look to secure a loan deal for a defender to address this need.
