CAF Decides Africa Cup of Nations to Return to Summer Schedule from 2027 After Morocco 2025 Exception

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided that the Africa Cup of Nations will return to its summer schedule starting from the 2027 edition. This edition will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in June and July. This decision follows an exception made for the current 2025 Morocco edition, which is scheduled to kick off in five days this December.

According to press reports, these dates are officially stipulated in the tournament's regulations. Any alteration to the listed dates would require a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee.

This decision aims to ensure the regularity of the tournament in its traditional seasons, following the exceptional experience imposed by FIFA with the winter staging of the Morocco edition, which has contributed to adjusting the long-term continental match calendar.
