The Senegalese Football Federation announced on Tuesday that player Elay Camara will miss the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Morocco between December 21 and January 18, 2026, due to a hamstring injury.
This announcement follows the 22-year-old Anderlecht player sustaining a grade two injury to his right hamstring during a match against Sint-Truiden, which his team won 2-1. Camara was forced to leave the field in the 16th minute of that game.
Camara received his football training in Belgium and represented various Belgian youth national teams before recently choosing to represent Senegal. He made his international debut in March 2025 against Togo and has since played in three international matches.
