Real Betis Allows Amrabat to Join Morocco National Team After Injury Rules Him Out of Dinamo Zagreb Clash

Real Betis has decided to allow Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat to depart, given his ongoing injury and inability to participate in Thursday's match against Dinamo Zagreb. He will now join the Morocco national team in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will host between December 21 and January 18. This decision could see the team without the player for up to eight matches, while the Moroccan national team awaits the arrival of Abde Ezzalzouli, who is also preparing to join the Atlas Lions camp.

According to a report by the Spanish newspaper "Estadio Deportivo," the club has effectively bid farewell to Amrabat until at least the end of 2025, and potentially for additional weeks into early 2026.

The report added that the idea of the player leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations without reappearing in the team's shirt, following his injury sustained in a collision with Isco Alarcón, had been discussed for days. This comes amidst talk of some dissatisfaction within the club due to what was perceived as a 'caution' from the player to avoid risking his participation in the continental tournament.

The newspaper's camera also captured Amrabat's arrival at Seville airport, preparing for his journey to his home country, even before the date allowed by FIFA regulations for national team call-ups.
