
Pepe Mel (Ittihad Tanger Coach): "I Came to an Important Club in Moroccan Football and Will Try to Build a Team for the Future"
Spanish coach Pepe Mel, the new manager of Ittihad Tanger, discussed his goals and vision for the team, stating his ambition to build a strong future squad that plays enjoyable football and brings pride to the fans.
In a statement to Ittihad Tanger's official page, Pepe Mel said: "I came to an important club, and I believe it is a significant club in Moroccan football, possessing wonderful fans who love football with great passion."
He added: "I will try to build a team for the future, a team that plays good football and makes the fans proud of their club. As Ittihad Tanger's motto says, 'More than football, it's a passion.' Let's go."
Pepe Mel signed a contract to manage Ittihad Tanger until 2028, succeeding national coach Hilal Al-Tayr, whose contract was terminated.
Mel has previously coached several Spanish clubs, including Tenerife, Almeria, Malaga, Deportivo La Coruña, Real Betis, Las Palmas, and West Bromwich Albion, in addition to a recent stint with Greek club OFI Crete.
