L'Equipe: Hakimi Confident of AFCON Opening Match Participation, PSG Cautious
Press reports have confirmed that Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi is convinced he will be ready to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations from its outset. The tournament will be hosted by the Kingdom from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Hakimi is confident he will be available for the national team's opening match against Comoros.
The same source added that Paris Saint-Germain prefers to exercise caution, believing that Hakimi will not have regained 100% full fitness by the start of the continental competition.
The Moroccan full-back began a race against time to be fit before December 21, following a serious ankle injury sustained on November 4 during a match against Bayern Munich. He is currently following a precise and carefully planned treatment protocol.
