Santos After Al Ahly Draw: 'We Played Against a Big Team, Our Performance Was Good'

Al-Jaish Al-Malaki coach Alexandre Santos affirmed that his team played against a big opponent, Egypt's Al Ahly, in the second round of the CAF Champions League group stage. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Following the match, Santos stated in press remarks: "We played against a very strong team, both collectively and individually, but we played extremely well. We delivered a fantastic first half, while the second half was naturally tougher because they also had their reactions."

He added: "I am proud of the players, and they are proud of the work they put in. I believe the fans who followed us noticed that we gave our utmost to achieve victory and deliver the best possible performance."

Santos continued: "The level we displayed was very high, and we managed to secure a good result despite the draw. The available points are very few, but we need to win all three points in the next match. We will prepare well for that, as we are capable of achieving our goal of qualifying for the quarter-finals."
