Champions League/ AS FAR Settles for Home Draw Against Al Ahly (1-1)

AS FAR drew 1-1 with Egyptian giants Al Ahly in their CAF Champions League Group Stage match on Friday. The game, part of Matchday 2, took place at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

The Moroccan side started the match aggressively, launching early attacks. Ahmed Hamoudan came close to opening the scoring in the third minute with a shot that narrowly missed the target.

Al Ahly also sought to find the net through various chances, but the Moroccan representative's defense proved to be a formidable barrier against their attempts.

Alexander Santos's men continued to press Al Ahly's defense, leveraging their home advantage and crowd support. Their efforts paid off in the 36th minute when the referee awarded AS FAR a penalty. Although Rabie Hrimat missed the initial spot-kick, Mohcine Bouriga followed up to convert the rebound, giving them the opening goal.

After the break, the Egyptian team intensified their pressure on AS FAR and managed to score the equalizer in the 68th minute through Mahmoud Trezeguet.

With this result, Al Ahly now leads Group B with 4 points, the same as second-placed Young Africans. AS FAR sits third with one point, while JS Kabylie is at the bottom of the standings, also with one point.
