Parties Involved in Zemrat's Statements Case Face Rabat Security Investigation
Four days after the Professional Football League announced its decision to pursue legal action through its lawyers, Rabat's security authorities have begun questioning the parties involved in the case surrounding coach Abdelwahed Zemrat's statements. According to press reports on Friday, Zemrat's remarks sparked widespread controversy regarding alleged external interference in the VAR technical room during Ittihad Touarga matches.
The questioning is expected to include Abdelwahed Zemrat himself, Redouane Jiyed, Director of the Refereeing Department, and the referees who were present in the VAR room, notably Redouane Adardour. The aim is to verify the accuracy of the coach's claims regarding external communications that allegedly influenced refereeing decisions and to ensure the integrity of the investigation.
Abdeslam Belkchour, President of the Professional League, had confirmed days earlier that the decision to pursue legal action followed an assessment of the gravity of Zemrat's statements. He emphasized that this step aims for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure respect for refereeing independence and protect the credibility of the championship.
