The Moroccan Futsal National Team failed to win the Islamic Solidarity Games, held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, after suffering a heavy 0-5 defeat to Iran in their final match on Tuesday at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex.
The Iranian squad dominated the encounter, threatening goalkeeper Bilal Hamidouch's goal on numerous occasions, while the Moroccan players maintained possession without creating any real danger.
The Moroccan team conceded three goals in the first half, scored by Gholami, Mehdi Karimi, and Hossein Tayebi, ending the first half with Iran leading by a clean three-goal margin.
After the break, Hicham Dguig's squad attempted to score their first goal, creating several dangerous opportunities, but they were met by an outstanding performance from Iranian goalkeeper Baqer Mohammadi, before Iran scored their fourth and fifth goals.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan team had faced their Iranian counterparts in the first round of the Islamic Solidarity Games group stage, in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw.
