Deco, Barcelona Sporting Director: 'No Debate on Flick's Style, Work is the Only Solution for Improvement'

Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, made sure to attend the open training session held at Spotify Camp Nou on Friday, which was attended by over 21,000 fans.

Deco did not hide the great enthusiasm felt by all Barcelona supporters on this day. In statements to the club's channel, he said: "It is an exciting and special day for Barcelona and for everyone; it is truly impressive. The president is very enthusiastic about the courage he showed in undertaking a stadium like this."

Deco then addressed more current issues, announcing his alignment with coach Hansi Flick and affirming that the team's playing style should not change. He stated: "There is no debate about the style. We are aware of where we can improve and the difficulties we face. Last season, we also faced difficulties and overcame them, and this is what we will do this year."

The sporting director urged the players to work hard to regain the best form and performance they displayed last season, emphasizing that there is no other formula for achieving this. He remarked: "The only solution I have seen for improvement is work. I have seen magical solutions from many, but the only thing we can do is work."

Deco also spoke about player Lamine Yamal, who regained his best form in the match against Club Brugge. He commented: "We are happy with players returning from injury at 100%. Lamine feels better; it is sometimes an annoying injury, but we are all working, and Lamine wants to enjoy playing football."
