De Jong Criticizes Barcelona's Performance: "We Are Weak Defensively and Weren't the Best in Europe Last Season!"

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong acknowledged clear defensive balance issues within his team following their 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League.

De Jong stated after the match, "We are weak in counter-attacks, due to poor marking or bad positioning in the backline."

The Dutch international added that this is not a new problem for the Catalan side, recalling last season: "We have to get past this stage. Even last season, we weren't the best team in Europe; we didn't win the Champions League and conceded many goals."

De Jong concluded, saying, "It's not just about defense, but when you concede three goals in one match, winning becomes difficult."
