Norway Coach Solbakken: Morocco Clash 'Best Rehearsal' Before World Cup
Norway national team coach Ståle Solbakken has stated that the upcoming friendly match against Morocco will be a crucial test for his squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup finals. He praised the "Atlas Lions" for their performance in recent years.
Speaking at a press conference from the Norwegian team's training camp in Greensboro, USA, Solbakken said, "Morocco is a strong test. They faced Senegal in the final and have shown good levels for a long time."
The Norwegian coach added, "I think they changed the coach recently, and we will see if that makes a difference."
He continued, "In the last World Cup, they played with a very organized defensive style and achieved great success, but they have appeared somewhat different recently."
Solbakken explained that facing Morocco would serve as a crucial dress rehearsal for his team before the global competition, considering the opponent's strength and the similar conditions to a World Cup atmosphere.
Morocco is set to play its final friendly match in preparation for the 2026 World Cup finals tomorrow, Sunday, against Norway at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, USA.
Morocco has been drawn into Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, while Norway is in Group I with France, Senegal, and Iraq.
