Paris Bans Champs-Élysées Celebration Parade if PSG Wins Champions League
The Paris Police Prefecture has confirmed that no celebratory parade will be organized on the famous Champs-Élysées should Paris Saint-Germain win the UEFA Champions League title against Arsenal next Saturday. This decision, detailed in a decree issued on May 22, prevents the team from celebrating on the historic avenue, unlike last year when players celebrated there after securing the French Ligue 1 title.
French authorities clarified that extensive security measures will include strict traffic and parking restrictions in the area. Parking will be completely prohibited in the stretch between the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde starting from 3 PM. These restrictions will further expand to include a ban on traffic movement in the same area from 5 PM, coinciding with preparations for the final match, which kicks off at 6 PM in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
The 8th Arrondissement Municipality in the capital indicated the possibility of closing several metro stations in the evening, including Charles de Gaulle - Étoile and Concorde, for organizational reasons. These measures, conveyed by local authorities, aim to ensure security control and prevent congestion in the heart of Paris, given the anticipation of large crowds gathering to follow the eagerly awaited confrontation between the Parisian club and its English rival, Arsenal.
