João Pedro on World Cup Snub: 'Joys and Frustrations Are Part of Football; I'll Be a Fan to Bring Sixth Title Home'
Chelsea's Brazilian forward João Pedro has commented on his exclusion from Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup, stating that joys and disappointments are an inherent part of football.
Pedro posted a message on his Instagram story, which read: "I tried to give my best at all times. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to achieve the dream of representing my country in the World Cup, but I remain calm and focused, as I always try to be."
He continued: "Joys and frustrations are part of football, and from now on, I wish everyone there good luck, and I will just be another fan supporting them to bring the sixth title home."
Brazil's national team coach Carlo Ancelotti decided not to call up Pedro for the World Cup, despite the player featuring in 49 matches for Chelsea this season across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists.
