Ancelotti: "Neymar is an Important Player for Brazil; External Atmosphere Will Remain Under Control Until World Cup's End, With or Without Him."
Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti affirmed that Neymar Jr. remains an important player for the Seleção, noting that his selection is not an easy matter and requires precise evaluation before a final decision is made.
Ancelotti explained in a press interview: "A choice must be made, taking many things into consideration. In this regard, Neymar is an important player for this country because of the talent he has always shown. He has gone through problems, but he is recovering and working hard to regain his level. He also plays regularly and has improved significantly recently."
He continued: "For me, the decision is not easy. Things must be evaluated well, but this does not put pressure on me, because this year is dedicated to evaluating all players, not just Neymar. Brazilian football should not lose this kind of talent."
He also spoke about the team's atmosphere and Neymar's role within the group: "Neymar is very much loved, not only by the people but also by the players. This is important, because calling up Neymar does not mean introducing a problem into the dressing room; on the contrary, he is a very well-liked person."
He highlighted the importance of dealing with pressure, stating: "I believe it is normal to listen to different opinions, and I appreciate everyone who offers me advice. A special routine must be prepared to deal with all of this, because pressure is a very important element and must be controlled well."
Regarding Neymar's physical readiness, he said: "He has improved significantly physically in recent matches, and he has delivered very good performances over the last 15 or 20 days. When the physical aspect improves, a player becomes capable of playing at a high tempo."
Ancelotti concluded his statements by emphasizing his responsibility in making the decision: "I am the most suitable person to make this decision, because the information I have about all Brazilian players this year is unique to me. There is no perfect squad, but I can prepare a squad with the fewest possible errors. The external atmosphere is under control and will remain so until the end of the World Cup, whether Neymar is present or not."
It is worth noting that the Brazilian national team is in Group C of the World Cup, alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
