Timoumi to AS FAR Players: 'African Champions League Title is Your Only Option'
Former Moroccan international Mohamed Timoumi has sent a message to AS FAR players, urging them to win the CAF Champions League title against South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
In an interview with Qatar's beIN Sports network, Timoumi stated: "AS FAR awaits an important match and a heavy responsibility. It is not easy to achieve a continental title."
He continued: "You are on the right track, and you have overcome many teams that possess value, weight, and legacy. As players, you have great value at the continental and individual levels, as well as in each player's contribution."
Timoumi explained: "I hope this title will be yours, even against Sundowns, who are not an easy team. However, I believe that good management, self-confidence, focus, and avoiding haste can help you achieve it. You have a special advantage at the collective level, not just individually."
He added: "Behind you is a large fanbase that expects a second title from you. You have no choice but to win the title, and you possess all the qualities to overcome Sundowns and claim the second championship."
The first leg of the CAF Champions League final between AS FAR and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns will take place next Sunday in Pretoria, South Africa, kicking off at 3:00 PM (GMT+1).
