Motsepe Praises Morocco, Highlights Global Success of Africa Cup of Nations with Key Figures
Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has lauded Morocco for its significant role in the successful organization of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking at the "Africa Forward" summit held in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, Motsepe affirmed that Morocco presented an exceptional model in hosting the tournament, both in terms of fan attendance and global interaction, highlighting the impressive figures achieved by the event.
The CAF President stated: "2.5 billion people followed the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, in addition to 6.2 billion digital views, which means billions of people around the world were interacting and watching what was happening in Morocco. 180 countries across the globe were following the tournament."
He added: "The Moroccan economy benefited by approximately $2 billion, according to Nielsen, one of the world's largest research and marketing companies, utilized by UEFA and FIFA." Motsepe continued: "The study showed that Morocco's economy benefits by up to $2 billion during the month of hosting the Africa Cup of Nations."
This statement comes amid continuous praise for the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco, which was considered one of the most successful editions in the tournament's history in terms of organization, media presence, and fan engagement.
