De la Fuente: 'I Hope 2030 World Cup Final is Played in Spain, My Country Meets All Conditions'
Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente has expressed his hope that the 2030 World Cup final will be held in Spain, believing his country is capable of organizing a major world-class football event, despite ongoing debate about the host stadium.
“I hope the 2030 World Cup final is played in my country, in Spain, and in a large stadium,” De la Fuente stated in remarks reported by Spanish newspaper Sport. He added: “It seems Madrid is the center, and it would be more comfortable. But I have no doubt that Spain meets all the conditions to be an example for a World Cup final.”
These remarks come as discussions continue regarding the stadium that will host the final. Prominent contenders include the Santiago Bernabéu and Camp Nou in Spain, alongside the Moroccan option of the Grand Stade de Casablanca (Hassan II Stadium) in Casablanca.
The final decision is expected in the coming period, given the anticipated joint organization of the 2030 World Cup by Spain, Morocco, and Portugal.
