Hassania Agadir Protests Refereeing Decisions Against FAR Rabat, Demands Urgent Investigation
Hassania Agadir Club has expressed its profound surprise and strong dissatisfaction with the refereeing decisions witnessed during its match against FAR Rabat in the 20th round of the "Inwi" Professional League, stating that these decisions directly impacted the final outcome of the game.
The Souss-based club clarified that it has sent a letter to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding the refereeing errors in the match. Copies of the protest letter were also sent to the National Professional Football League and the National Refereeing Directorate, aiming to inform all relevant parties about the details of these impactful decisions.
The statement continued: "While Hassania Agadir Sports Union commends the efforts made by national football authorities to develop the refereeing system and enhance performance quality, it simultaneously notes with deep regret the impactful errors committed by the match officiating crew, which clearly affected the outcome of the encounter. We highlight the following:
First: The awarding of a non-existent foul against our player Cabral Euclides around the 37th minute, accompanied by a yellow card. This incident directly led to the opponent's second goal, a refereeing decision that raised many questions.
Second: The referee's repeated decisions to award non-existent fouls against our players throughout the match, issuing cards that affected the team's performance and restricted players' interventions on the field. This was in stark contrast to the leniency shown towards opposing players for more forceful and dangerous tackles.
Third: The awarding of a 'fictitious' penalty against our team in the final seconds of the match, which handed the winning points to the opposing team. This incomprehensible refereeing decision caused widespread dissatisfaction among all club members."
The statement added: "Hassania Agadir Sports Union, while expressing its trust in the institutions overseeing national football, calls upon the National Refereeing Directorate to launch an urgent investigation into these impactful refereeing decisions and to evaluate refereeing performance in a manner that ensures the credibility of the competition and equal opportunities among clubs."
Hassania Agadir also denounced the repeated refereeing blunders the team has suffered since the start of the current season, which have significantly contributed to its current position in the league standings. This is attributed to numerous points lost in multiple matches due to impactful refereeing decisions, according to the statement.
