Tchouaméni Accepts Real Madrid Fine, Apologizes for Club's Image
Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has issued an apology to the club's fans following a financial penalty imposed by the management. The sanction, amounting to 500,000 euros for each player, came after an altercation with teammate Federico Valverde during Thursday's training session.
Speaking via an Instagram story, Tchouaméni stated, “What happened this week in training is unacceptable. I say this because we are required to set an example for young people, whether in football or even in schools. It doesn't matter who was right or wrong; we must always seek the calmest solution to resolve any disagreement.”
He continued, “I apologize for the image we reflected of the club. I know that the fans, the technical staff, my teammates, and the management – everyone is deeply disappointed with how things have gone this season, but frustration cannot be an excuse for everything.”
Tchouaméni added, “Such incidents, even if they might occur in any locker room, are not befitting of Real Madrid, especially as it is the most talked-about club in the world. The internet loves to fabricate exaggerated stories to stir controversy, so do not believe everything that is said or the false narratives circulating.”
He further explained, “In any case, it is no longer the time to look for who did what, or who said what, or who was right or wrong. I accept the club's punishment and take full responsibility. We are still one family, and sometimes disagreements happen between us, but we must always put our goals above all else.”
Tchouaméni concluded, “I have apologized to the group, and I would also like to apologize to all Madrid fans. Now it is time to move forward. All our focus is on El Clásico and next season, to restore the club to its natural place at the top.”
