Vinicius to Omar El Hilali: "I Won't Swap Shirts With You, You'll Go Back to the Second Division"
Movistar Plus cameras captured the close-up altercations between Vinicius and Omar El Hilali during Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Espanyol on La Liga Matchday 34.
In one instance, the Brazilian told the Espanyol defender, "Stop messing around, and you're asking me to swap shirts. You're stupid, you want to fight. I won't swap my shirt with you."
Television footage showed Vinicius frequently complaining about El Hilali pulling his shirt. The Brazilian shouted at his opponent, "You're an idiot!" to which the Moroccan responded with the same words.
Vinicius also told Espanyol coach Manolo, "You need to take him off, they're going to send him off." Shortly after, the referee directly showed El Hilali a red card for a challenge on the Brazilian, but after a VAR review, the decision was downgraded to a yellow card.
The tension between the players continued. As Espanyol fans chanted, "Vinicius, beach ball," and El Hilali reacted with a smile, Vinicius further provoked his opponent, saying, "You'll be back in the Second Division, man."
Vinicius ultimately ended his ongoing altercations with El Hilali throughout the match by scoring two goals, leading Real Madrid to a 2-0 victory, and postponing rivals Barcelona's La Liga title coronation.
