Al Ahly started the match with intensity, with Achraf Bencharki opening the scoring in the 18th minute. He then turned provider, assisting Hussein El Shahat for the second goal in the 32nd minute, solidifying his team's superiority in the first half.
In the second half, Zamalek continued to squander opportunities, notably missing a penalty kick through Hossam Abdel Majeed. Al Ahly also missed a chance to extend their lead from the spot when Mahmoud Trezeguet failed to convert a penalty in the 66th minute.
Bencharki once again made a decisive impact, scoring Al Ahly's third goal in the 74th minute. This strike sealed the encounter and guided Al Ahly to a significant victory, boosting their title aspirations.
The result has complicated the race at the top of the standings. Zamalek currently sits second with 50 points, level with leaders Pyramids FC, while Al Ahly are in third place with 47 points.
