Al-Tayr: 'Numerical Disadvantage Disrupted Our Plans, Forced MAS to Change Style'
Hilal Al-Tayr, coach of Hassania Agadir, affirmed that his team delivered an acceptable performance despite their 4-0 loss to Maghreb Fez (MAS). The match was part of the 17th round of the Professional League.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Al-Tayr stated: "As you noticed, we raised our pressing line and prevented the opponent from playing out from the back. Anyone who watched the match would confirm that we were organized on the field and won many duels. We also forced Maghreb Fez to play against their usual style, which is based on building attacks from defense."
He added: "There was the incident of Assane Beye's second yellow card, which was debatable. I believe we should have been more cautious in making such decisions, because playing against MAS with a numerical disadvantage is difficult, especially since they are a strong team experiencing positive momentum."
Al-Tayr continued: "The match had two distinct periods: before and after the red card. We were closer to scoring, but despite being a man down, we weren't effective enough in the penalty area. We also gifted them a goal easily after a misplaced pass."
He concluded: "I thank the players for their efforts, especially since over 60% of the team consists of young players born in 2005 and 2006."
Al-Tayr concluded: "We came to Fez aiming for a point, but in matches against big teams like this, any point is a gain. Today we left without a result, and we will make up for it in our upcoming home matches."
