Osasuna Confirms Real Madrid Buy-Back Option for Víctor Muñoz
Braulio Vázquez, Osasuna's sporting director, has confirmed that Spanish club Real Madrid holds a pre-agreed three-year buy-back option for player Víctor Muñoz. Vázquez noted that this clause will become active starting from the upcoming summer transfer window.
Vázquez clarified that the Royal Club retains its rights to re-sign the player, based on the agreement made between both parties. He stated, "Real Madrid has three years to exercise the buy-back option, which was already agreed upon."
Regarding external offers, the sporting official revealed that Osasuna received a verbal offer of approximately 25 million euros from English club Sunderland for Muñoz. However, the Spanish club's management has shown strong adherence to its financial demands.
Vázquez emphasized that Osasuna will not enter into any negotiations to sell the player for less than his 40 million euro release clause. He affirmed, "We do not listen to offers; instead, we direct everyone to the value of the release clause."
The details of the player's ownership include significant financial aspects, as Real Madrid retains 50% of Víctor Muñoz's rights. This entitles them to half of any transfer fee should he move to another destination. Osasuna acquired the other half of the player's rights last summer, and since then, Muñoz has shown remarkable development in his career, enabling him to join the Spanish national team within just seven months of being with the club.
