Osasuna Director Clarifies Real Madrid's Buy-Back Clause for Víctor Muñoz
Osasuna's sporting director, Braulio Vázquez, has clarified the details of Real Madrid's multi-year buy-back clause for midfielder Víctor Muñoz.
Vázquez indicated that if activated, this clause would be solely for the purpose of integrating the player into Real Madrid's first team.
Vázquez emphasized that Real Madrid is a serious club and would not use this option as a "maneuver to immediately resell the player," asserting that the club's history supports this approach.
Braulio Vázquez stated: "If they bring him back, it will be to rely on him for the first team; it's not about a maneuver to resell him, as the club's history proves that."
The sporting director added that Real Madrid possesses a buy-back option for several years, and if exercised, it would be to incorporate the player into their senior squad.
He also mentioned that Osasuna acquired 50% of Víctor Muñoz's rights from Real Madrid last summer for five million euros. The player has contributed five goals and four assists for Osasuna this season.
In the same context, Vázquez noted the existence of a 16-week temporary transfer period, during which a player cannot transfer again in the same market, illustrating the complexities of the transfer market.
He also cited names such as Nico Paz, Fran García, Miguel Gutiérrez, and Dani Parejo as examples of Real Madrid's previous use of the buy-back mechanism.
