Halilhodžić: "Criticizing the Referee? I Don't Fear a 10-Year Ban Because I'm Done with Football"

Nantes coach Vahid Halilhodžić expressed his dissatisfaction with the refereeing during his team's 1-1 draw against Brest on Matchday 30 of the French League.

The Bosnian coach criticized the match official's decisions, which included the sending off of a Nantes player. He stated that he does not fear a 10-year ban for his public criticism of the refereeing system in France.

Following the match, Halilhodžić declared: "I am angry about what happened. I don't understand the reason for Assoumani's red card, nor most of the refereeing decisions."

He continued, saying: "I know the referee is still young, and I was told I shouldn't speak too much because I would face a suspension, but I don't care. I don't fear a 10-year ban because I am done with football."

Nantes currently faces the threat of relegation to the French second division, as they sit in 17th place (second to last) with 20 points.
