Louza on Halilhodžić: "He's a very kind person off the pitch, and if you're afraid of him, that's your problem"
Moroccan international Imran Louza commented on the return of French-Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodžić to manage Nantes, suggesting that the coach, known for his strictness, might be the right person to lead the team at this stage.
Nantes had decided to re-sign Halilhodžić to replace coach Ahmed Kantari, a move aimed at saving the team from the threat of relegation to Ligue 2. The Bosnian coach previously managed the team during the 2018-2019 season.
In statements to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Louza, who previously worked with Halilhodžić at Nantes and with the Moroccan national team, said: "I have good memories with him. He is a coach who might appear strict, but in Nantes' current situation, that could be beneficial."
The Watford player added: "Anyone who doesn't put in the effort will be sidelined by Halilhodžić, and if you're afraid of him, that's a problem, because you have to be daring. He's an old-school coach; he used the same training methods with Morocco and Nantes, and sometimes we would have three training sessions a day, but outside of football, he's a very kind person."
