Hamoudan Calls for Moroccan Support, Vows to Fight for CAF Champions League Title
Ahmed Hamoudan, a player for AS FAR, expressed his hope that the team would receive the full support of Moroccan fans in the CAF Champions League final against South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, as they aim to clinch the continental title.
Speaking to Arriyadia TV, Hamoudan said: “Congratulations to all components of AS FAR for this qualification. It is an important achievement, but the most important part is yet to come, which is the final, and we are striving to win the championship.”
He added: “I hope we continue with the same fighting spirit. The match against RS Berkane was not easy; we faced a team that fought until the very end to qualify. However, thanks to our experience, we succeeded in reaching the final, and we hope that all Moroccans will support us in this crucial encounter.”
Hamoudan concluded: “The match against Mamelodi Sundowns will not be easy, but AS FAR today is not the same as yesterday. Any team that faces us will have to take us into serious consideration. We are confident in ourselves and in our fans, and we will fight in the final to dedicate the title to all Moroccans, God willing.”
AS FAR reached the CAF Champions League final despite a 1-0 defeat to RS Berkane, having benefited from their 2-0 victory in the first leg. This sets up a final clash with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
