Al-Wadni: 'We are aware of the responsibility and will enter RS Berkane match aiming for CAF Champions League final'
Marouane El Ouadni, a player for AS FAR, affirmed that his team will approach the second leg against RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League semi-finals with a singular objective: to secure qualification for the final. He emphasized the squad's strong desire to continue their journey towards the title.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, El Ouadni stated: "The group is our team's strength; we play as 11 players from the striker to the goalkeeper. Tomorrow, we will enter the match focused on one goal: qualification."
He added: "We will not go there just to defend. AS FAR is a big team, and we know that RS Berkane is also a big team, but we came to win tomorrow's match."
The player also spoke about the team's journey in the competition, saying: "From the beginning, we have been making sacrifices in this competition. We had a difficult group, and we were the only team in the CAF Champions League that played some matches without fans, even though our fans are the 12th player."
He continued: "In the group stage, we had to win crucial matches despite difficult circumstances. We drew 1-1 with title holders Pyramids in Rabat, then returned with an important qualification from Cairo after a 2-1 victory."
El Ouadni stressed the team's strong character: "We have strong individuals and a powerful squad. It's not easy to face the title holders and qualify against them."
He went on to say: "We are determined and know what we want. God willing, we will make our fans happy this season. AS FAR has not reached this stage in years, and we are currently writing history, but we haven't completed it yet, because the goal is to win the title."
He concluded: "We are aware of the magnitude of the responsibility, and we will be proud if we achieve this title to make our fans, who deserve it, happy."
