After Senegal, Motsepe to Visit Morocco Tomorrow for Official Meetings with Lekjaa
Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is set to arrive in Morocco tomorrow, Thursday, for an official visit. The visit will include a series of meetings with national football officials, most notably Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
Motsepe is expected to meet with Lekjaa, as well as various members and stakeholders of Moroccan football, to strengthen cooperation and develop the sport at the continental level.
The visit will be followed by a press conference in Rabat at 5:00 PM (17:00 GMT+1), where further details regarding the objectives and agenda of the visit are expected to be announced.
This visit follows the CAF President's arrival in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, earlier today, Wednesday. He was welcomed by Abdoulaye Fall, President of the Senegalese Football Federation, and several other Senegalese football officials.
During his visit to Senegal, Motsepe also met with the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and the President of the Senegalese Federation, though no additional details about the content of these meetings were disclosed.
Press reports suggest that this tour is part of diplomatic efforts aimed at easing some tensions within the African football scene, particularly after the controversy surrounding the announcement of Morocco as the host of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
