Barcelona Officially Announce Contract Renewal for Young Forward Shane Kluivert Until 2028
Spanish club Barcelona has announced the contract renewal of its young player Shane Kluivert, extending his stay with the club until June 2028.
The 18-year-old Dutch forward, son of former player Patrick Kluivert, joined the club's academy in the summer of 2017. He has progressed through its youth ranks, reaching the Juvenil A team and Barça Atlètic (the reserve team) during the current season.
As part of his technical development, Kluivert began featuring for Barça Atlètic this season, making his official debut on October 19 last year under coach Giuliano Beletti.
The Dutch youth international has participated in 16 matches with Barcelona's reserve team, scoring two goals and assisting two others for his teammates.
Shane is known for his tactical versatility, allowing him to play as a winger, an attacking midfielder, or a central striker. This flexibility has made him a valuable option in the lineups of the teams he has represented for the Catalan club.
The new contract signing ceremony took place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, ensuring the player's continued presence within the Spanish club for the coming years.
This move reinforces the career path of a player who has progressed through La Masia academy since childhood, aligning with the management's strategy to retain rising talents and provide stability for the team's future.
