Liverpool Recovers Alexander Isak After Over 3 Months Out
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has announced that Swedish forward Alexander Isak will return to full team training tomorrow, Thursday. This marks his comeback after a lengthy absence of over three months, having been sidelined since December 20 due to a severe ankle and fibula injury that required surgery.
Arne Slot emphasized the importance of the 26-year-old striker's return at this critical point in the season. The manager stated, "Having him back with a team that typically creates many chances is extremely beneficial for us. Even if he cannot start immediately, his recovery in the final two months will be a strong addition."
Slot also commented on the player's morale, adding, "Alex is in a very good place, especially after Sweden qualified for the World Cup, and he will start training with the group again from tomorrow."
Isak's return, following his record-breaking $170 million transfer to Liverpool from Newcastle, is expected to boost the English club's ambitions of securing a qualification spot for the UEFA Champions League.
