Walid Regragui '80% Close' to Saudi Arabia Coaching Job
Saudi media reports have indicated that national coach Walid Regragui has emerged as the leading candidate to take over the Saudi national team in the coming period, succeeding Frenchman Hervé Renard.
According to the Saudi "Al-Qanawat Al-Riyadiya" network, the former coach of the Moroccan national team is strongly nearing the Saudi national team coaching position, replacing Hervé Renard, especially after the criticism the latter has been facing.
The same source added that Regragui is 80% close to officially signing to coach the Saudi national team, taking over from Hervé Renard.
Renard had recently faced media and public criticism following a 4-0 friendly defeat to the Egyptian national team at Al-Inma Stadium, a match played as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
