Senegal Goalkeeper: '0% Chance' of Africa Cup Being Taken From Us
Senegalese goalkeeper Mory Diaw made striking statements after starting in place of Édouard Mendy in Senegal's 2-0 friendly victory over Peru. The Le Havre shot-stopper addressed the ongoing case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which concerns a Confederation of African Football (CAF) decision to award the Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco at the expense of Senegal.
Following the match, Diaw stated, "I was watching the Paris Saint-Germain (against Chelsea) match when suddenly a friend called me to inform me of the decision."
He added, "I now believe there is a 0% chance of the title being taken from us. We have complete confidence in the executive office and the Senegalese Football Federation. We are calm. Will we return the medals? It depends on who comes to ask for them."
