Moroccan Lawyers' Club Appoints Judicial Officer to Document Senegal's AFCON Celebration, Report to FIFA
The Moroccan Lawyers' Club has followed through on its promise, announcing the appointment of a judicial officer to observe the events surrounding the friendly match between Senegal and Peru in Paris, France.
Mourad Elajouti, president of the Moroccan Lawyers' Club, confirmed that this action is part of an escalation against the Senegalese Football Federation, which he claims continues to insist on celebrating the Africa Cup despite a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Committee to strip them of the title and award it to Morocco.
Elajouti stated that he has appointed a judicial officer to document the events at Stade de France, where the Senegalese national team is expected to present the Africa Cup of Nations trophy to its fans before their friendly match against Peru, scheduled for Saturday (17:00 GMT+1). The purpose, he added, is to "record the identity of attendees, the slogans used, and the method of displaying the trophy."
The judicial officer's report will be submitted to FIFA's Ethics Committee (Investigatory Chamber), which is responsible for adjudicating violations of the Code of Ethics, as well as to FIFA's Disciplinary Committee.
