Slot explained in his statements that Liverpool players showed resilience and collective effort that refutes Carragher's assessment, noting that the team did not give up despite repeated disappointments this season. The Liverpool manager said, "I agree with a lot of things Jamie has said throughout this season, but I disagree with him on this specific opinion," emphasizing that the collective spirit was evident in players tracking back to cover defensively during counter-attacks faced by the team.
The Dutch coach stressed that the team's reaction after conceding the equalizer in the 90th minute reflected the group's cohesion. He stated, "A team that gives up or consists of individuals who don't work together doesn't show this resilience after our 120th setback this season." Slot added that he had not seen any signs of disintegration despite recent results, which saw the club win only one of its last four domestic league matches.
This draw ended a run of six consecutive defeats for Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
